Get To Know Us
The Foundation for the Advancement of Vocational Education (FAVE) was founded in 2017 by Amy Philpott and Karl Hampton. They were inspired by Karl's father, William Hampton, who farmed in Mississippi, and Amy's father, Dean E. Philpott, who taught vocational classes (auto shop and welding) at high school in Sanger, California for more than 35 years before retiring in 1997.
Amy says of her father - "My Dad loved teaching and he can fix or build anything. So, a career in vocational education was a natural fit. He knew as early as 15 years old that he wanted to be a vocational teacher."
FAVE recognizes all vocational educators and their students for their economic and societal contributions.
